Re-Seal Process:

To begin with, we must first determine that it is time to reseal your concrete. This can be accomplished by performing a splash test. You can actually complete this test yourself. Sprinkle water on the concrete surface, if the water is absorbed and makes the surface noticeably darker, the surface is not waterproof. If the water is not absorbed and beads, the concrete is protected.

Once you determine that it is time to reseal your concrete. We will begin the following process.

Our Resealing Process at Designer Concrete:

  1. We will first rinse dirt/debris off of stamped concrete surface with a garden hose or pressure washer.
  2. We will then apply a small amount of liquid dish soap to surface and scrub with a push broom.
  3. Rinse well with a garden hose or pressure washer until there is no sign of soap suds.
  4. We will then dry the surface completely and wait 24 hours to air dry.
  5. Once the surface is completely dry, we will apply the sealer. Sealer should be applied when air temperature is about 45°F.
  6. If needed, a second coat can be applied after the first coat is tack free. You should wait 5 hours before walking on resealed areas, weather permits time, usually the next day.
  7. Your stamped concrete should be resealed every 2-3 years to protect your investment.
